In From the Cold
Even the snow people think it is too cold to be outside. How did they sneak in through the locked front door?

Amaryllis
This is what happens when you wait to buy new amayllis until they go on sale.

They bloomed in the box! The one on the right had two buds, one of which had already bloomed and shriveled up. Maybe the second bud will open.

This is how the soil comes. You add water, and voila! crumbly soil! Reminds me of something we used to play with as children that would grow into funny little shapes when you poured water on them.

Magic! Ready to use.

This one came out of the box with white leaves with green tips. No sign of a bud, but who knows.

This one shows promise. TWO buds!!
I am easily entertained these days with the promise of flowers.

Winter Sunset
Even though I swore I wouldn't take another snow picture this winter, this sunset was just too beautiful to pass up even if I got a little snow in the picture.

This is one of three of those white metal deer with lights. The other two are so buried that one has completely disappeared and the other one has only a single light denoting its position. This is the tallest of the three, still holding out for a peek at the world.
